A video has surfaced of the member of Parliament for the Asawase constituency, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak being welcomed with a gun salute following his nomination.
Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak was nominated by President John Dramani Mahama as the Minister of the Interior-designate.
In a video shared by EDHUB, the Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak was cloth in white stepping out to his compound he was greeted with a gun salute from his security details from the Ghana Police Service.
The Police officer was later heard shouting” Congratulations sir”.
Another Police officer was spotted greeting the Muntaka Mubarak.
Meanwhile, some Ghanaians have shared their thought about the gun salute, one user stated, “There’s little fanfare in serious countries bcos they know the difficult task of governing, over here it’s celebration upon celebration bcos of what we think we stand to gain personally”.
Another further stated, “Only in Africa that people throw a party when they are nominated or appointed into government office”.
