The question of President John Dramani Mahama receiving a private jet as a gift from his brother, Ibrahim Mahama, is a question on the lips of many Ghanaians.
These questions were raised after the businessman and brother of Ghana’s president, Ibrahim Mahama, reported acquired a new private jet for his use.
President John Mahama’s decision to use his brother Ibrahim Mahama’s private jet for an official trip to Senegal and The Gambia raised concerns amongst Ghanaians.
These questions were necessitated as former President Akufo-Addo spent $12,000 on private jet rentals daily and was heavily criticized by Ghanaians.
Spokesperson of President John Mahama, Felix Kwakye Ofosu explained that the use of the private jet belonging to the president’s brother was necessitated by a pending review of the presidential aircraft.
He also revealed that the use of the jet came at no cost to Ghanaians.
Social media commentator Bongo Ideas reacting announced the purchase on X. He wrote, “Ibrahim Mahama acquires a new private jet! He can give out the first one to Mahama for free. Henceforth, let’s respect ourselves; he’s nobody’s mate; not even your East Legon rich men!”
