President Mahama has disclosed that the next ministries for which he will nominate ministers.
So far, President Mahama has nominated three (3) ministers who have undergone vetting and are awaiting parliamentary approval.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has been nominated as Finance Minister-Designate, Dr. Dominic Ayine has also been nominated as Attorney General and Minister for Justice-Designate with John Abdulai Jinapor being nominated as Energy Minister-Designate.
President Mahama received criticism from the minority in parliament who claimed he was wasting time nominating ministers in “tots”.
In a working visit to Bawku today, January 14, 2025, President Mahama disclosed he is going to appoint Ministers for Defense and Interior within the course of the week, thus in the next 3 days.
“So within this week, we will do the appointment of the Minister of Defense, Minister of Interior, the National Security Advisor, the National Security Coordinator, the BNI (now NIB) Director and all the others,” he stated.
According to the President, these appointments will be made swiftly to ensure peace and stability is returned to Bawku permanently.
