Ghanaian actor, Kwadwo ‘Lil Win’ Nkansah says he spent over Ghc1million to promote his movie, ‘A Country Called Ghana’.
“Even the promotion of the movie cost more than 10 billion old Ghana cedis. Yes, it was more than that. I spent more than Ghc1million to promote the movie,” he stated.
According to him, people called him proud because of how much he invested to promote the movie which led him to conclude Ghanaians do not understand promotion.
Citing the American movie industry as an example, the said, “Go to America, when they are promoting movies they brand houses and almost everything else with movie posters and that’s what makes a movie successful”.
Lil Win disclosed his desire to replicate the American form of movie promotion here in Ghana is what influenced his decision to buy a Mercedes Benz and brand it for the movies promotion.
“All this helped and that’s why a country called Ghana became popular nationwide. That is why a lot of MPs and musicians came for the premiere in Accra. The promotion made it impossible for them to say in their homes.”
‘A Country Called Ghana’ is movie which was directed by Frank Fiifi Gharbin and executively directed by Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win.
The movie is a Ghana-Nigeria collaboration, that sees some of the finest actors and actresses from the two countries to entertain and educate movie lovers about the need to preserve their heritage.
