The President as a sign of respect to the Chiefs quickly motioned at them to keep seated.

His actions have been lauded by Ghanaians as it is in contrast to that of former President Akufo-Addo.

During Akufo-Addo’s tenure, his actions at a similar event with Chiefs present caused an uproar amongst Ghanaians.

Former President Akufo-Addo ordered Chiefs who were seated to rise to their feet to welcome him to an event, an action some deemed uncultured and disrespectful.

Social media is now awash with the actions of the two Presidents, with Mahama receiving praise from citizens and reviving backlash for former President Akufo-Addo.
