A man who resides in Ashaiman has issued a strong warning to Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie over comments made made against the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) government.
A recent post on Instagram by Sarkodie, the rapper wrote, “Back to gari soakings like we never left.”
Many social media users interpreted the comment of the rapper, a known sympathizer of the opposition, New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a reaction to President John Mahama’s return to office.
Many accused the rapper of hypocrisy after the post, with some going as extreme as threatening the musician.
In a video shared on X, the man said, “you said toaso (continue) in 2020” in reaction to a verse in Sarkodie’s song ‘Happy Day’ where he endorsed a second term for former President Akufo-Addo.
According to the man, Sarkodie has no right to criticize an administration which has been in power for just a few days.
“You said toaso in 2020. John Mahama’s 3 days is better than Akufo-Addo’s 8 years,” he said.
“Foolish boy I am in Ashaiman dirty man like that. From now onwards wear a helmet when going anywhere just like you boy Currency does. If you no wear helmet you go check am,” he added.

Sarkodie should take his security & safety seriously cos from what I’m hearing, if he makes another political statement, it’d be a disaster for him. He should stay mute just as he did for the past 8 years. We are in 2014 & the street is angry! pic.twitter.com/j2PTy2Tfq2
