Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Lower West Akim on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gifty Klenam has joined the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
She revealed her switch during the unveiling of her new NDC membership card.
Ina brief unveiling, she stated, “This is my new family card. Ndc eerh 3y3 zu.”
Gifty Kleman, a former parliamentarian, was first elected as MP for Lower West Akim in 2004 and served two consecutive terms until 2012.
In 2017, she was appointed CEO of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), a position she held until her dismissal in 2020 amid allegations of misconduct.
She subsequently joined the Alan Kyerematen camp and quit the NPP after Alan formed his Movement for Change.
Ahead of the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections, she sought to contest the Lower West Akim as an independent candidate, a move she made after losing the primaries to the incumbent MP.
