Ghanaian rapper M.anifest has highlighted the vast difference in politicians before and after elections.
He established that politicians prior to elections are the humblest people one will ever meet, but became arrogant immediately after the elections have been conducted, and they have been sworn into office.
In a post on X, he wrote; “Before elections: pound your fufu, wash your clothes, clean your gutters, door to door kɔkɔɔkɔ, and maybe even pave your roads.” This we experienced in the just ended December 7, 2024 elections. Some candidates even went to the extent of washing clothes of constituents all in the name of power.
He second ‘verse’ of his post read, “After elections: Address me as honorable. I’ll show you where the power lies.”
His post follows a full blown out confrontation between the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission, Emeafa Hardcastle and Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam Adoagyiri constituency, Frank Annoh-Dompreh on January 28, 2025.
The altercation resulted in Annoh-Dompreh being described as a silly child by , Emeafa Hardcastle.
This was after Annoh-Dompreh threatened to take Emeafa on for describing the minority, which Annoh-Dompreh belongs to in parliament as a micro-minority.
