The Weija Gbawe member of parliament Jerry Ahmad Shaib has reacted after he was captured as one of the MPs to have started the ‘violence’ in parliament when he tried to turn over the tables used during the vetting procedures.
A heated clash occurred on Thursday, January 30, 2025, when Okudzeto and Akandoh were awaiting their turn to be vetted.
The minority group wanted to end the day’s vetting at Minister for Transport-designate, Joseph Nikpe. The majority however insisted on the vetting of the duo to proceed, which the minority vehemently opposed.
The minority members were heard saying “It is not happening” while some majority members said, “If you’re tired go”.
Amid the violence, the tables and microphones of the committee were broken.
Speaking to the media after the heated clash, Jerry Ahmad Shaib stated, “I was having a chat with him, telling him that it was late we agreed at the conclave that we were going to do four, and we have done six, neither as it may he is a very good friend of mine, I think he should always understand we are tired”.
“When the brain is tired, it is tired what work can you do when the brain is tired, we agreed four and anybody who will say something else I don’t know”, he added.
