Headmistress of Swedru Senior High School called this student at the assembly grounds in front of everyone this morning. The reason is shocking.
The headmistress of Swedru Senior High School, Mrs. Golda Esi Andam, has commended two students for their honesty after they found a purse containing a significant amount of money and returned it to the school authorities.
Speaking at the school’s morning assembly on Monday, Mrs. Andam praised the students for their exemplary behavior, describing their actions as a reflection of the values of integrity and responsibility. Without revealing the exact amount of money or the color of the purse, she noted that the sum was substantial enough to surprise her.
“These are the virtues we want to instill in you all—honesty and a sense of duty. When you find someone’s belonging, do the right thing and return it. God will surely bless you for that,” she said.
As a gesture of appreciation, Mrs. Andam presented each of the students with 20 Ghana cedis from her own pocket and encouraged the rest of the school to emulate their example. She also took the opportunity to caution students about carelessness with their personal belongings, reminding them that they might not always encounter individuals as trustworthy as the two who returned the purse.
Swedru Senior High School, located in Agona Swedru in the Central Region of Ghana, was established in 1959 and has built a reputation as one of the country’s most prominent secondary schools. With a focus on academic excellence and character development, the school has consistently produced students who embody the institution’s core values of discipline and moral uprightness. This latest display of integrity underscores the positive impact of the school’s efforts to nurture responsible citizens.
