Staunch supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have apposed the potential appointment of Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko as National Communication Authority (NCA) boss.
According to them, the appointee’s allegiance lies not with the party.
They described him as the masterminded behind the closure of NDC pro Radio stations, Radio gold, Radio XYZ and the other pro-NDC media houses.
“NDC stop dancing with enemies. Trash his CV ASAP. He can’t be NCA boss!,” and X user simply called Dr. Fred wrote.
The appointment Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko was also seen by these supporters as a betrayal.
They contend the party has countless competent individuals who can do the job.
“NDC bigwigs, stop undermining your own party members! It’s shocking to see you backing a pastor for the DG position at NCA when there are countless competent individuals within the party who have worked tirelessly to bring NDC to power,” @musahabdulmanaf also wrote.
The NDC leadership is now at a crossroads. While Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko has the experience and credentials to occupy the Director General position at the NCA, the opposition of party faithful cannot be brushed aside.
