Sammi Awuku the member of parliament for Akuapem North has lamented that some of the boys the New Patriotic Party (NPP) worked with in the 2016 elections joined the NDC in the 2024 elections.
Sammi Awuku asserted that maybe the NPP could say they were not able to keep them or the boys felt their expectations were not met.
According to Sammi Awuku, the NPP must not focus on naming and blaming for the defeat in the just-ended December polls.
Speaking on AsaasePa 107.3 Sammi Awuku detailed, “What I am saying is that these boys don’t arm them I am not saying give them guns but let them be brave that the party they are in are a party made up of brave people to cowards”.
“I don’t think so, maybe because we were in government, we felt when someone did something to us they told us to be silent and don’t speak, some of the same boys that worked with us in 2016 I saw some of these same boys with the NDC. Maybe you could say we were not able to keep them, they might also say their expectation was not met”, Sammi Awuku noted.
The Member of parliament further added the NPP ‘boys’ who oversee ballot security need to be blamed for the party’s defeat.
He added, “If we want to name and do blame games they will not be focused on helping us out of where we are, but then I think these are areas they can look at, I will not deceive you, I don’t take things for granted”.
“One thing I do at home is when I am coming to sleep I wake up four times to check if the doors are locked, personal security, I am just saying if I can go and check my door to see if it is locked properly”.
