Ghanaian blogger, Bongo Ideas has urged rapper Sarkodie to prioritize his safety and security.
Bongo Ideas advised Sarkodie to avoid making any political statements and stay mute just like he did under former President Akufo-Addo’s government.
“Sarkodie should take his security & safety seriously cos from what I’m hearing, if he makes another political statement, it’d be a disaster for him. He should stay mute just as he did for the past 8 years. We are in 2014 & the street is angry!,” he wrote on his X page.
His advise follows a threat made to Sarkodie by an Ashaiman based man.
In a video shared on X, an Ashaiman based man told Sarkodie has no right to criticize the John Dramani Mahama administration which has been in power for just a few days.
“You said toaso in 2020. John Mahama’s 3 days is better than Akufo-Addo’s 8 years,” he said.
“Foolish boy I am in Ashaiman dirty man like that. From now onwards wear a helmet when going anywhere just like you boy Currency does. If you no wear helmet you go check am,” he added.
The man’s anger stems from a post Sarkodie made on his Instagram page supposedly directed at the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Sarkodie wrote, “Back to gari soakings like we never left.”
Social media users interpreted the comment of the rapper, a known sympathizer of the opposition, New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a reaction to President John Mahama’s return to office.
Many accused the rapper of hypocrisy after the post.
