Sammy Awuku resigns as NLA Boss

Member of Parliament (MP) for Akuapim North Constituency, Samuel Awuku has resigned as Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA).

His resignation comes after he was sworn into office as a Member of Parliament in the ninth Parliament.

“I write to formally inform you of my resignation as Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) effective 13th January, 2025. I have been elected as the Member of Parliament for the Akwapim North constituency and have been duly sworn in to represent my constituents”.

According to the letter, Sammy Awuku his resignation is to give him the time to focus on serving his constituents as an MP.

“In the light of this new responsibility, I wish to focus my efforts on serving as a Member of Parliament”.

“I kindly request that you appoint a replacement for the position of Director General to facilitate a smooth transition and handover of responsibilities”.

Samuel Awuku was appointed by former President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo as the Director General of the NLA in August 2021.
