The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, has called on party supporters to report suspected infiltrators in government institutions to the appropriate authorities.
Speaking in an interview with Citi News, he denied allegations that NDC members had disrupted operations at the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) and other government establishments.
“There are claims that our members were at Tema Harbour and some government institutions, including warehouses.
Let me use this opportunity to encourage our members to remain vigilant and report any unlawful activities to me as the regional chairman or to the regional police commander for the appropriate actions to be taken,” Ashie Moore stated.
He urged NDC members to avoid any actions that could lead to accusations of engaging in the same behaviors they have been critical of in the past.
“Rather than being accused of engaging in the very things we complain about, we must let law and order prevail,” he said.
Ashie Moore also disclosed that he had met with the regional police commander and his team, who assured him of their commitment to safeguarding state establishments and institutions.
“I can promise you that within 24 hours, law and order will prevail in the region,” he added.
The statement follows reports that earlier in the day, some individuals stormed the offices of the GPHA in Tema, attempting to sack workers under the pretext that their party was now in power.
Ashie Moore distanced the NDC from such actions, urging party members to uphold discipline and respect state institutions.
