President John Dramani Mahama has now started using Ghana’s Presidential Jet.
He travelled to the Nairobi-Kenya for the African Union (AU) reforms summit with the official presidential jet after concerns were raised over its usage.
After assuming office, President Mahama relied on his brother, Ibrahim Mahama’s private jet (Dzata jet) for all his travels.
This raised many concerns from Ghanaians who thought this would come at a cost to the country, especially when the National Democratic Congress (NDC) had criticized former President Akufo-Addo for spending over $12,000 daily on private jet rentals.
However, Spokesperson for President John Dramani Mahama, Felix Kwakye Ofosu revealed that Mahama using the Dzata jet is an alternative arrangement that has not, in any way, shape, or form, cost the Ghanaian taxpayer a dime.
He explained that the President was waiting for the all clear from the Ghana Armed Forces to start using the Presidential Jet, hence his usage of the Dzata jet.
It seems like the President has now received the brief and all clear from the Ghana Armed Forces and can now use the Presidential jet without any concerns.
