Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah has been named the Acting Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) by President John Mahama.

Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah’s appointment took effect on Monday, January 27, 2025.

His appointment was confirmed in a letter signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President on January 23.

Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah replaces Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah at EOCO after her appointment was revoked by the new government.

The appointed EOCO boss has 14 days to indicate his acceptance or otherwise.

President Mahama further extended his best wishes to Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah.

Meanwhile, his appointment was made in accordance with Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 11(1) of the Economic and Organised Crime Act, 2010 (Act 804).

Which is now pending the constitutionally required advice of EOCO’s Governing Board in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
