Afenyo Markin the minority leader in parliament has told Eric Opoku the minister-designate for Food and Agriculture that everyone knows he is intelligent.
According to Afenyo Markin, the appointment had not been to lunch and they decided to squeeze Eric Opoku’s vetting in so he should keep his answers short.
Afenyo Markin stated, “We decided to holdback our lunch, to take you, the whole, day we have not had lunch, we have not had a break, your smile must be brief, and your submission must be brief”.
Eric Opoku then insisted a question had been asked so he needed to respond.
However, Afenyo Markin then added in Twi, ‘Obiaa nim sɛ w’aben. Twaso’ which translates as “everyone knows you are intelligent, keep it short”.
Meanwhile, Eric Opoku, the Minister-designate for Food and Agriculture at his vetting revealed that only 5% of youth in Ghana are engaged in agriculture.
According to the Minister-designate, it is unacceptable that only 5% of our youth is engaged in agriculture.
He further added every Senior high School would be required to own a farm under his reign as Agricultural minister to reduce the cost of school feeding and also enhance both the quality and quantity of the food provided to our students.
