Nana Amoasi VII the Executive Director, Institute for Energy Security has finally declared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) did not inherit dumsor.

According to Nana Amoasi VII, the NPP instead inherited an improved power generation system.

Former President Akufo-Addo in his last SONA boldly stated he is leaving the office of government with the lights on.

According to Akufo-Addo, he inherited a nation plagued by dumsor.

The Executive Director, Institute for Energy Security is quoted by Starr FM, to have said, “They (NPP) did not inherit “dumsor”; instead, they inherited an improved power generation system”.

Meanwhile, the John Mahama government according to GRIDCo reports require $89.90m to procure liquid fuel to avert looming dumsor.

According to the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) report funds are required to procure liquid fuel to operate thermal plants in Tema to meet the growing electricity demand in the country.

It has been revealed that the West Africa Gas Pipeline Company (WAPco), which supplies natural gas to Ghana, plans to undergo major maintenance work, known as pigging and will be unable to supply gas to Ghana for nearly one month.

Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) in a statement issued revealed maintenance of the gas pipelines from Nigeria to Ghana by WAGP was initially set to take place in October 2024 but the Akufo-Addo government postponed the maintenance to January 2025.
