Andrew Atariwini has tendered his resignation as the Deputy Upper East Regional Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), effective immediately.
The decision, which he described as one made with a “clear conscience,” marks the end of his tenure in a position he has served with dedication over the years.
In a statement addressed to the Regional Communication Director and sighted by our reporter, Mr. Atariwini expressed his unwavering commitment to the party’s vision and ideology despite stepping down from his role.
“My ethos in this regard remains solid and sound for the support of the ideology and corporate vision of the NPP,” he stated.
He extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Regional Communication Director for entrusting him with the responsibility of serving in such a pivotal capacity.
Additionally, Mr. Atariwini acknowledged the regional executives for their support and indulgence throughout his time in office.
“To all my colleagues in the communication team, your warmth, love, and support will forever be with me; God bless you all,”
he wrote, expressing deep appreciation for the camaraderie and collaboration he experienced within the communication team.
Andrew Atariwini’s resignation comes at a time when the NPP is gearing up for reorganization after a pitiful defeat during the 2024 general elections, and communication remains a critical tool in shaping the party’s narrative and outreach.
His departure raises questions about the leadership dynamics within the regional communication team, as he has been a key figure in the party’s public engagement efforts.
Although he did not explicitly state the reasons for his resignation, Mr. Atariwini’s acknowledgment of his unwavering commitment to the NPP suggests his departure is not a withdrawal from the party but rather a strategic personal decision.
As the NPP navigates this transition, attention will be focused on the party’s ability to fill the vacuum created by Mr. Atariwini’s resignation and maintain the momentum necessary to rally support in the region ahead of any ongoing party activities.
The Regional Communication Directorate has yet to issue a formal response to the resignation.
Mr. Atariwini’s legacy, characterized by dedication and loyalty to the party, will undoubtedly leave an indelible mark on the regional communication front.
