The Ghana Card will be an integral aspect of service provision under Okudzeto Ablakwa’s tenure as Foreign Affairs Minister.
Minister Designate for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa made this known when he outlined his plans to simplify the passport application and renewal process in Ghana.
According to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, people with Ghana cards do not need to visit passport offices for registration or renewal of passports.
The Member of Parliament for North Tongu stated that a system will be created for people with Ghana cards to apply for passport from home and receive it via courier without going to the offices.
“I have already starting engaging Honorable Sam George, the Minister of Communication so that you don’t need to go to the passport office if you have a Ghana card. It should be possible for you to be able to sit at home and apply for your passport.”
I want to end this business of going back to the passport office for your passport, its so outmoded. We can engage courier services to send your passport at home or your office,” Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa stated.
Okudzeto is currently facing the Appointments Committee in a vetting which has been highly anticipated by the Ghanaian people.
