A member of operation recover all loot (ORAL) and Private legal practitioner, Martin Kpebu has announced that Nana Attobrah Quaicoe, the Director of the National Investigation Bureau (NIB), has voluntarily agreed to return a parcel of state land he had unlawfully acquired.
Kpebu made the revelation during an interview on TV3’s Key Point today, confirming that Quaicoe personally reached out to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the chairman of the government’s Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), to communicate his decision.
The land in question is located in the agri-mechanisation lands area, opposite the El Wak Stadium in Accra.
Kpebu emphasized that the rezoning process which facilitated the illegal acquisition was riddled with procedural flaws, making it fundamentally illegitimate.
He noted that the rezoning did not involve Parliament, among other issues, rendering the land’s allocation to the beneficiaries, including Quaicoe, unlawful.
“Mr. Nana Attobrah Quaicoe called our chairman, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, to inform him that he was willing to relinquish his parcel of land in the agri-mechanisation lands area,” Kpebu explained on TV3’s Key Point.
ORAL, established by former President John Dramani Mahama on December 18, 2024, was tasked with recovering state assets unlawfully acquired by individuals, especially during previous administrations.
The five-member team, led by Ablakwa, is dedicated to restoring accountability and public trust in state asset management.
