The son of Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, Charles Asiedu, who is now Member of Parliament-elect for Tano South was seen in parliament to undergo the registration process to be sworn in as an MP for the 9th parliament.
Speaking to the media after his registration Charles Asiedu stated that his father’s influence played a crucial role in his victory, but he also worked diligently to secure the seat himself.
Speaking in an interview with 1957News after completing his registration process in Parliament on Sunday, January 5, 2025, Charles Asiedu shared his thoughts on his win.
He mentioned that while his father’s influence was pivotal, he also put in significant effort to secure the victory.
“My father was not surprised because he knew my capabilities when I won the election. He was really excited that his son was going to be a member of the 9th Parliament,” he said.
Charles Asiedu, who secured 20,056 votes, successfully unseated the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament, Benjamin Yeboah Sekyere, who garnered 19,061 votes.
