According to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa if Ghana do not remain alert and call out financial irregularities the country will lose vital resources.

Speaking before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Friday, January 31, Hon Ablakwa detailed, “My exposés about wrongdoings have saved this country millions of dollars. If we do not remain alert and call out financial irregularities, Ghana will continue to lose vital resources that could be used for development.”

I do not engage in these exposés for personal gain or political advantage. My focus is on ensuring that the hard-earned resources of this country are used prudently and not squandered through shady deals.

I will continue to stand for integrity and accountability. Ghana’s foreign service must reflect these values, ensuring that we serve our people and protect the country’s image internationally”, Ablakwa stated.

Meanwhile, Ablakwa has revealed the terms of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) initiative were inflated by  $100 million.

According to him only 25 per cent has been paid and not all the liabilities have been met so he would encourage the new Mahama administration to renegotiate the DRIP initiative so that Ghana can save money because his conservative estimate is that it has been inflated by more than $100 million.

He added there is the need to save money because $100 million can do so much for an IMF-bailout country.
