Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Malik Basintale, has made fun of the lawyer representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over disputes in the collation of results in contested constituencies.
An Accra High Court has dismissed a preliminary objection by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) application seeking an order for the Electoral Commission (EC) to collate and declare the results of 4 constituencies under dispute.
The Court is now hearing the application on whether the EC should go ahead to collate and declare.
The constituencies were Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, Tema Central and Techiman South.
During the hearing in court yesterday, the NPP’s lawyer who is in support of the writ of filed by NPP candidates in the disputed constituencies seeking to hold fresh elections tried to paint the picture of Malik Basintale coercion EC officials to declare results in favour of the NDC candidates.
Malik Basintale shared excerpts of the court proceedings on his X page.
He wrote on X,
“1. NPP lawyer: Basintale was chaotic at collation center and forced EC officers to declare results under duress…
- Edudzi: show us your evidence…..
- EC lawyer: watch the video…..
- Court registrar plays video…
- Judge and entire court watches video quietly….
- Edudzi: Ah, But I can’t see Basintale being chaotic or forcing any EC officer to declare results…..
- NPP Lawyer: But he is singing Revo..Revo…Revoooolution…
Judge: Mtcheeeew….Judgment on Saturday”
