Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Malik Basintale has been named interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
President Mahama appointed Malik to take over from Kofi Baah Agyepong who announced his resignation on January 24, 2025, citing personal commitments and aspirations.
““I am formally tendering my resignation as the Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), effective 24th January 2025,” Kofi Agyepong wrote.
He described his tenure “an honour and a privilege” and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve over the past two years.
His resignation is part of a broader trend of leadership changes in state-owned agencies following last year’s December 7 Presidential Election.
Malik Basintale, is set to officially assume office on Monday, January 27, 2025.
In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), Mr. Basintale thanked President Mahama for the opportunity, pledging his commitment to the role. “Thank you, Mr. President, H.E John D. Mahama. We shall not fail you❤️🙏🏽🇬🇭,” he wrote.
