President John Mahama has appointed Justina Nelson as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF).

Justina Nelson’s appointment comes barely hours after the President fired Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng.

According to the Presidency Communication Justina Nelson is currently a Group Head at Zenith Bank with oversight responsibility for both energy and commercial Banking sectors.

Justina Nelson has a Master of Law in Corporate and Commercial Law, a master’s in business administration (Marketing), a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Management and Psychology.

A statement from the Presidency announcing her appointment stated, “The President, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama has in accordance with Article 195 (1) of the Constitution and Section 21 (2) of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) Act, 2018 (Act 978), appointed Ms. Justina Nelson as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Income Investment Fund”.

Meanwhile, earlier on Tuesday, January 14 President John Dramani Mahama fired Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng as the Chief Executive Officer of the Minerals Income and Investment Fund (MIIF).

In a letter dated January 13, 2025, Yaw Koranteng was fired with immediate effect.
