BREAKING: Legendary Ghanaian musician Teddy Osei passes on

Teddy Osei a Legendary Ghanaian musician and saxophonist has passed on.

He was one of the founding members of the Afro-rock band Osibisa.

According to the information from the President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (GHAMRO), Bessa Simons, the musician died on Tuesday 14, 2025.

Teddy Osei has died at the age of 88 after being born in December 1937.

The late Legendary Ghanaian musician Teddy Osei was born in Kumasi and was introduced to music as a child.

He created a band called “The Comets” after graduating from college, which enjoyed brief popularity before Osei traveled to London in 1962.

He founded the Osibisa band in 1969 with several other musicians.

The band stayed prevalent throughout the 1970s, before facing a decline, although it continues to perform today.
