Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has heaped praises on colleague, Edem Agbana.
This follows the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu North, Edem Agbana move to provide financial support to students in his constituency.
Edem Abgana has opened up applications for scholarships targeted at students in his constituency.
The scheme, dubbed ‘Ketu North Scholar’ seeks to offer financial assistance to constituents enrolled in public tertiary institutions “demonstrate financial need and show excellent academic progress.”
The ‘Ketu North Scholar’ will also offer assistance to nurses who have worked in the constituency for at least five (5) years and seek to further their education.
Interested applicants are encouraged to download the application form at https://gqr.sh/P98n and submit it to either their Assembly Member or NDC Ward Chairman in their electoral area.
Hard copies of the form are also available at the NDC Constituency Office and with Assembly Members.
The appliation period is expected to close on 20th January, 2025.
The ‘Ketu North Scholar’ is a fulfillment of Edem Agbana’s campaign promise to formally institutionalize the Edem Agbana Scholarship Scheme for needy Ketu North students in various tertiary institutions.
A psuedo account of Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa posting the scholarship scheme on X, praised the initiative.
On his X page, he wrote, “After a week in office, one of the new MPs that has hit the ground running is Hon. Edem Agbna @edemagbana. NB: applications are still open for Ketu North students. 4 DAYS TO GO! Together we will build the Ghana we all want @Elorm_Hood
Other X users also took the opportunity to applaud Edem Agbana for his initiative and asked their MPs to establish such schemes in their constituencies.
