John Dramani Mahama has officially been sworn in as Ghana’s 6th president under the 4th republic.

John Mahama took the oath of office at the Black Stars Square.

He was sworn in by the Chief Justice of Ghana Gertrude Torkonoo on Monday, January 7, 2025, at the Black Star Square in Accra.

His swearing comes after Ghana’s first female vice president Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman also took the oath of office.

Ghana’s new president is expected to tackle challenges of corruption, high unemployment, inflation, and public discontent with the economy of Ghana and many more.

He would be serving his second term in office after he was voted out in the 2016 general elections.
