The minority in parliament has quizzed John Abdulai Jinapor the energy minister-designate after his earlier warning of a power crisis due to fuel shortages.
According to the minority led by Gideon Boako in a press conference, they questioned John Jinapor that it has been more than 2 days and why is the light not off.
Speaking during the press conference Gideon Boako stated, “He stated and I quote, I have bad news for you, just today the confirmation we are getting is that we have only 5 hours of fuel stock, we don’t have up to two days, and in two days we are likely to run out of fuel”.
“The administration has not ordered any fuel, as we speak, it takes an average of 4 weeks for the fuel to arrive. 4 weeks for the fuel to be treated we are in a very serious situation”, he added.
Gideon Boako further added, “This is what the minister nominee said, however, when pressed for clarification he shifted his narrative, specifying that he was referring only to heavy fuel”.
“This is misleading as it disregards Cen power has sufficient light crude oil reserve to last for 23 days, such inconsistency only serves to sole confusion and panic within the business community and the public”, he said.
Gideon Boako questioned, “The question we ask is that it has been more than days, why is the light not off?”.
