Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president has stated he will set up CCTV cameras here at Kantamanto to detect crimes.
On Monday Dr. Bawumia visited the Kantamanto Market which was destroyed by fire last week and supported the traders with GH¢200,000.
Speaking to the traders, Dr. Bawumia stated, “About the security, I want to put cameras in Kantamanto, the cameras I would bring them myself, we are leaving government, but I will bring the cameras whatever anyone will do we will see the person in Kantamanto”.
He further stated the government will supply the traders with building materials for reconstruction process.
Fire erupted in the Kantamanto market area during the early hours of January 2, 2025.
The information gathered suggests the fire peaked around 1:00 AM to 1:20 AM and ravaged everything within a two-mile area.
Meanwhile, some traders at the Kantamanto market have started rebuilding their structures with woods displaying their toughness in the face of difficult moments.
