US-based Ghanaian social media influencer Naana Donkor Arthur has advised Ghanaians of advanced age against relocating to the United States in search of better opportunities.

In an interview with Sammy Kay Media, she explained why relocating to the US may not be the best decision for individuals in their forties.

She discussed the stress involved in obtaining proper documentation and the physical demands of adjusting to life in a new country.

Naana recommended that younger individuals, who are better equipped to handle these challenges, consider relocation instead.

Speaking further with Sammy Kay Media, Naana outlined the difficulties older people face when trying to settle in America.

Having moved to the US at 19 after winning the American lottery, she noted that immigration has become significantly more challenging over the years.

Naana explained that acquiring legal documentation has become not only costly but also stressful, with an estimated cost of $35,000, which still doesn’t guarantee success.

She said middle-aged individuals earning that amount through physically demanding jobs could take years and leave them weak.

Naana Donkor Arthur also pointed out that single individuals have a better chance of securing documentation in the US, as they can marry and adjust their status.

However, she explained that married individuals relocating from Ghana would face more challenges and higher costs, as they could not obtain documentation through marriage.

She further emphasized that the US system is not favorable for those starting fresh at an advanced age. Naana advised Ghanaians in their forties and beyond to explore alternative ways of achieving their financial goals instead of relocating to the US.

According to her, younger people are better suited for the challenges of living in the US, as they have more time and energy to build a future.
