The Chairman of John Mahama ORAL team Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has boldly informed Afenyo-Markin if he has not stolen anything that belongs to the people there is no need to worry about ORAL.
According to Ablakwa, they are waiting for someone to show them a constitutional provision which prevents a president from setting up a team to recover loot.
His comments come after minority leader Afenyo-Markin describe ORAL as an illegal avenue by the NDC to witch-hunt political opponents.
Speaking to the media he stated, “My respond is simple if you haven’t taken anything that belongs to the people, you don’t worry about ORAL, it is simply recovering for the people what belongs to them, so if you haven’t taken anything that belongs to the people, whether the people’s money, cars, the peoples lands, the people forest, river bodies”.
“If you have not taken what belongs to the people, you have absolutely nothing to fear about ORAL, as for ORAL it will be implemented, and President Mahama is absolutely determine that there is full and total recovery for the Ghanaian people”, he added.
He further disclosed, “Tell them to show as the part of the constitution which tell us the President cannot set up a preparatory team to recover loot, we are waiting for a constitutional provision which prevents a president from setting up a team to recover loot”.
He added that the constitution clearly states that all Ghanaians must protect public property, asset and national resources.
