Ghanaian actor and producer, Kwadwo ‘Lil Win’ Nkansah says he paid Nigerian actor, Ramsey Nouah over $40,000 for his role in the movie ‘A Country Called Ghana’.
According to him, his first choice for the movie charged about $100,000.
“A Country Called Ghana…even the payment made to Ramsey was over $40,000,” he stated.
He disclosed the payments made to Charles Awurum, and Victor Osuagwu (Awilo Sharp Sharp) were also high. Lil Win indicated that the payments for their works excluded their accommodation fees and feeding, pointing out to the fact that he spent a huge amount of money on casting.
When asked why he spent such huge sums on the cast, he indicated that he wanted to be shot into the international limelight.
“When you do something good it needs to shoot you. If I used just Ghanaian casts, fine the movie would’ve shot up. But with Ramsey and all the others coming here, just imagine (the level of popularity and acceptance).”
The movie, he said has been accepted by Nigerians as they even perceived him as one of their own.
