Speaking on UTV Ghana, Carlos Ahenkorah stated, “I did what I did for the interest of the party and the benefit of Akufo-Addo’s government. Although I regretted my actions as they affected my family members and kids after it went viral on social media, but I never regretted doing that for my party and I will never regret it”.

“If I take my family and friends out of it, what I did was not wrong, I did not do it for myself, I did it for President Akufo-Addo, but Akufo-Addo I snatched it for did not appreciate it. That is why I will not do it again”, he added.

Carlos Ahenkorah further revealed, the NPP loss in the 2024 elections began when they allowed Bagbin to become Speaker of parliament.

The MP added, “If I did something like this, and I succeeded with Bagbin not winning, and we got an NPP becoming a speaker, the Speaker is like ten parliamentarians, so if it was 137-137 and speaker is on their side parliament is on their side”.

“Look at what happened to us in parliament up to this stage, if it was not Bagbin that was the speaker, and we had an NPP member we would have moved smoothly and these elections would have been won by us easily, but look Mahama is pleasing him hoping to retain him”, he disclosed.

He further reiterated, “Akufo-Addo that I snatched the ballot papers for he did see it”.
