Governs Kwame Agbodza, the Roads and Highways Minister-designate has revealed that he is not aware the Akufo-Addo government has constructed any concrete road anywhere.
According to Governs Kwame Agbodza, the only concrete road he knows of is the one built by Kwame Nkrumah.
Speaking during his vetting by the Appointments Committee on Monday, January 20, Kwame Agbodza detailed, “Currently, the only public concrete road of significance is the Accra-Tema Motorway built by President Nkrumah.
“I’m not aware of any major concrete road projects currently ongoing or completed”, he added.
He further reiterated, “The fact is that I am not aware the government has constructed any concrete road anywhere”.
Governs Kwame Agbodza also debunked claims concrete roads are cheaper than asphalt roads.
“It is misleading to suggest that concrete roads are cheaper. Engineers and quantity surveyors will confirm that a concrete road, particularly a reinforced concrete slab, is one of the most expensive road construction options”, he boldly added.
