President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed deep sorrow over the devastating fire that ravaged the Kantamanto Market on January 2, leaving many traders in distress as their livelihoods were reduced to ashes.
The tragic incident has caused significant damage, with many traders losing their goods and investments.
The President on Friday, January 3, while delivering his last State of the Nation Address, extended heartfelt sympathies to the hardworking traders affected, acknowledging the severe impact on their businesses and families.
“I want to put on record that I am deeply saddened by the devastating fire at Kantamanto market which took place yesterday,” he said.
He assured the victims that the government stands in solidarity with them during this difficult period. President Akufo-Addo emphasized the government’s commitment to working with relevant agencies to investigate the cause of the fire and ensure necessary support is provided to those impacted.
