The information gathered suggests some key National Democratic Congress bigwigs have secured ministerial positions in John Mahama’s new administration.
According to the reports that have surfaced following John Mahama making three key ministerial appointments today.
Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has been named the finance minister-designate, John Abdulai Jinapor has been named the energy minister-designate, and Dominic Akuritinga Ayine Attorney General.
Reports indicate the former minority leader Haruna Iddrisu will be named minister of defense, and Nana Oye Bampoe a former minister under Mahama will return as a gender minister once again.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, a former deputy Education minister has been penciled in for the Education Minister position despite his strong interest in becoming a Minister of Foreign Affairs. Joyce Bawah Mogtari, a lawyer for 24 years, will instead be named the minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.
Close sources from the party also indicate that Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, a trusted associate of Mahama will be named the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development in a strategic move to strengthen the NDC position ahead of the 2028 elections.
Eric Opoku, a former Minister for the Brong Ahafo Region has also been rumored to be named the minister of agriculture.
Meanwhile, President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that thousands of CVs have been sent for ministerial appointments under his government.
He noted that he promised Ghanaians sixty ministers so definitely some people will be disappointed.
President Mahama in the coming days is expected to make further ministerial nomination barring any last-minute changes the names above could possibly in Mahama’s cabinet appointment.
