Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the acting Spokesperson to President John Dramani Mahama has lauded Mahama’s inclusive approach to governance.
He noted that President Mahama has shown that he prioritises Ghana’s interests over personal comfort by appointing persons who may not always agree with him.
Kwakye Ofosu was referring to President Mahama appointing H. Kwasi Prempeh of the Centre for Democratic Development Ghana (CDD-Ghana) as the Chairman of the Constitutional Review Committee and Nana Yaa Jantuah, a former General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) appointed as a presidential staffer.
Speaking on JOY FM Super Morning Show on Tuesday, January 21, he stated, “President Mahama has shown that he prioritises the nation’s interests over personal comfort by appointing individuals who may not always agree with him. This level of tolerance is unparalleled”.
Kwakye Ofosu further took a swipe at former President Akufo-Addo’s government.
He stated, “Nana Akufo-Addo would never appoint critics to his government. His administration was characterised by an unwillingness to engage with dissenting voices, which weakened the governance process”.
“This is the kind of leadership that strengthens democracy—one where critics are given a seat at the table to contribute meaningfully to national development”, Kwakye Ofosu stated.
