Former Minister of Information, Fatimatu Abubakar has chastised the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua for blaming spirituality for the party’s defeat at the December 7, 2024 polls.
According to her, the General Secretary’s comments were inappropriate as someone of his caliber should know better.
She argues the party should be focusing on identifying what really led to them losing the elections rather than blaming spirituality.
“He is the party’s CEO and general scribe, so how could he say it was spiritual?” she questioned.
Justin Frimpong Kodua earlier had stated that spiritually the NPP lost the elections because a pastor who should have interceded for the party refused because they were angry.
Speaking on a radio station, Justin Frimpong Koduah detailed, “I will use this medium to appeal to pastors who intercede for the NPP… This is because a lot of spiritual machinations went on ahead of the 2024 general elections”.
“Things really happened in the spiritual realm; that is what I see and believe. Spiritually, we lost the elections. Some pastors who should have stood in the gap and interceded for us, some women of prayer who should have gone on their knees and prayed for us, refused to do so because there was a lot of anger”, he added.
