He also asserted the importance of creating an army that is not only skilled but also represents the diverse communities it serves.

Speaking during his vetting by the Appointments Committee on Tuesday, January 28, Dr Boamah stated, “I am a student of equity, and I believe that the military must reflect the diversity of our nation, we must ensure that every region is given equal opportunity to serve in the military, thus fostering unity and cohesion across the country.”

“When we ensure that recruitment is balanced across the regions, we are not just creating an army; we are reinforcing national integration and ensuring that every part of the country feels part of the larger goal of national security”, he added.

Omane Boamah further added he would do everything to ensure no region is left behind in the recruitment process.

“I will do everything in my power to ensure that no region is left behind in the recruitment process. The military should be a true reflection of Ghana’s rich diversity”, Omane Boamah reiterated.

Dr Omane Boamah further advised Ghanaians to avoid seeking enlistment into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) if they do not meet the requisite qualifications.

“Knowing the Ghana Armed Forces that I know and from where I sat about 17 years ago, if you succumb to the procedures and rules of engagement and get enlisted, you are likely to suffer. Some recruits even die at training”, he added.
