The bust erected in honor of the Executive Officer of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), COP Maame Tiwaa Addo-Danquah has been vandalized.
According to reports, some unidentified people stormed the premises of EOCO to destroy the bust.
The brazen act which took place on EOCO’s office premises could not be stopped as officers on site could only help but look on while the destruction happened.
It will be recalled that in October, 2024 a video went rounds on social media of the unveiling of a bust in honor of COP Maame Tiwaa Addo-Danquah.
In the viral video, COP Maame Tiwaa was reportedly unaware of the bust being erected in her honor, and expressed shock as the bust was unveiled.
The inscription on the bust in honor of the Executive Officer reads, “Obaatanpa Tiwaa Gardens to the Glory of God dedicated to COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah (Mrs) by the entire staff of EOCO in appreciation of her invaluable contribution to the welfare of the members of staff on Friday, 18th October 2024”.
The EOCO boss suffered intense criticism from some Ghanaians with investigative journalist and editor-in-chief of The Fourth Estate, Manasseh Azure Awuni saying if he was heading a security institution such as EOCO and his staff built a bust in her honor on the premises, and he only found out during the unveiling he would be worried about his competence heading a security institution.
Others also claimed her act of surprise was a ruse and suspected her of being behind the bust’s unveiling just to honour herself.
