The Minority caucus in parliament has charged President John Dramani Mahama to quickly call the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party faithful to order.
After the NDC won at the December 7 polls, some youth of the NDC stormed various state agencies, seeking to throw out appointees of the outgone New Patriotic Party (NPP) party.
Some NDC bigwigs have denied being responsible for these attacks.
The Minority caucus in parliament argues these incidents need to end and have condemned the NDC’s actions.
Deputy Minority Leader Patricia Appiagyei described the incidents as alarming and unacceptable, urging the President to act swiftly to restore order.
According to her, President Mahama’s failure to address these acts of violence could undermine the nation’s governance and compromise the security of its institutions, demanding for an immediate end to the alleged hostility to safeguard.
President John Dramani Mahama, has however admonished the youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against invading and attempting to takeover state owned institutions.
“I know that in 2017 that is what the NPP did after we lost that elections. As soon as we handed over, they started to attack gov’t offices, takeover tolling booths, take over public toilets, go to gov’t offices and throw people out. Seize some people on the streets and take cars from them. We must not do the same thing. Let us show Ghana that we are different,” he stated.
