Disgruntled members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Effutu constituency have issued an unqualified apology to the party following their destruction of party property few days ago.
The protest demanding a ministerial appointment for the 2024 parliamentary candidate for the constituency, James Kofi Annan turn violent, as these supporters expressed their disappointment by destroying party property.
Their actions were not only condemned by the party, but the man they were fighting for, James Kofi Annan as well.
Issuing an apology to the party, the group expressed regret for their actions and admitted to its inappropriateness.
“We, the Concerned Branch Executives of the NDC in the Effutu constituency, want to express our deep regret for our actions during our January 24 demonstration. We write to apologize for our regrettable actions”.
Angela Mensah, who spoke on behalf of the group, admitted that a more diplomatic approach should have been taken to voice their concerns, rather than resorting to destructive behavior.
She emphasized their commitment to finding more constructive ways to address grievances in the future.
“Our behavior was unacceptable, and we understand our actions have caused more harm than good to the party’s reputation”.
