Edward Bawa has been appointed the acting Chief Executive Officer for the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).
His appointment was confirmed by a statement from the Office of the President on Friday, January 17, 2025.
The presidency statement stated, “His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghania In accordance we, Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 10(2) of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation Act, 1983 (P.N.D.C.L.64) has appointed you as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation pending receipt of the required advice of the Honourable Mridtaer for Energy, in consultation with the Public Services Commission
- Your appointment takes effect from 17″ January; 2025.
- I take this opportunity to congratulate you formally on your appointment
- Please accept the President’s best wishes”.
The President further extended his congratulations to the former MP for Bongo and expressed his best wishes for his tenure.
