The General Overseer of God’s Crown Chapel, Reindolph Oduro Gyebi, popularly known as Eagle Prophet, is facing intense criticism after his widely publicized prophecy regarding Ghana’s 2025 presidential swearing-in ceremony failed to materialize.

Ahead of the 2024 elections, the Kumasi-based prophet predicted that while Ghanaians would cast their votes as scheduled, the elected president would not be sworn in on January 7, 2025, as is customary.

Instead, he declared the ceremony would take place on a different date. Eagle Prophet, known for his bold spiritual claims, had boasted, “I have one of the sharpest eyes when it comes to seeing from a great distance.”

Contrary to his prophecy, President John Dramani Mahama was sworn in on January 7, 2025, following his victory in the 2024 elections.

The uneventful and routine nature of the ceremony starkly contrasted with Eagle Prophet’s predictions, leaving many Ghanaians questioning his spiritual credibility.

While the Eagle Prophet is no stranger to controversy having correctly predicted a tragic 2017 accident that claimed 20 lives and injured over 30 his failed prophecy about the swearing-in has sparked widespread criticism.

Social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), have been flooded with comments mocking the prophet and questioning his authenticity.

One user wrote, “If Eagle Prophet’s prophecy can’t even get a swearing-in date right, why should we trust anything else he says?” Another added, “Prophets like him thrive on fear and guesswork.

He should be held accountable for misleading the public.” Some critics have gone as far as calling for his arrest for spreading falsehoods under the guise of prophecy.

Despite the backlash, Eagle Prophet has yet to respond publicly to the failed prophecy.

“Ghanaians will vote in 2024, and there will be a swearing-in ceremony in 2025. However, the elected president will not be sworn in on January 7, 2025, as is normally done, but on a different date. I have one of the sharpest eyes when it comes to seeing from a great distance.” -… pic.twitter.com/FWT85gSHln
