Dr. Randy Abbey, Journalist and football administrator has been named the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).
In a letter signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, made this known.
Part of the letter stated, “I write to formally inform you that His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 12(2) of the Ghana Cocoa Board Act, 1984 (P.N.D.C.L 81) has appointed you as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Cocoa Board pending receipt of the Constitutionally required advice of the Board of Ghana Cocoa Board, in consultation with the Public Services Commission”.
The popular television host Randy Abbey officially stepped down from his role as the Managing Director of Ignite Media Group (IMG), the parent company of Metro TV, Original TV, and Original FM, on December 31, 2024.
He is renowned as the host of the widely watched Good Morning Ghana show on Metro TV and is also resigning from his position on the board of Ignite Media Group.
