Mona Faiz Montrage alias “Hajia4Reall a popular Ghanaian socialite and singer appeal for her deportation to Ghana has been granted by a US court.
Hajia 4Reall pleaded guilty to defrauding individuals and businesses in the United States between 2013 and 2019 and was serving a 12-month sentence at the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia.
Her legal team, Fast Law, submitted the request on 1 November 2024, arguing that the document was necessary to begin self-deportation proceedings.
According to court records the prosecutors did not oppose the application.
The US District Judge J. Paul Oetken has now ruled in approval of the request, directing that her passport be handed over to her lawyers.
The US court ruling clears the way for Hajia4real to return to Ghana upon completing her sentence.
Hajia4Reall was sent to prison for a year and one day for her involvement in a romance scam in June 2024.
She was arrested in the UK on November 11, 2022, after participating in the Ghana Music Awards UK. Hajia4real was subsequently extradited to the US in May 2023.
