The Ghana Football Association has reported sacked two assistant coaches of the Black Stars.
The two coaches, John Paintsil and Joseph Laumann‘s contract termination come weeks ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.
John Paintsil and Joseph Laumann served as the two assistant coaches of manager Otto Addo but will not be part of Black Stars technical team for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March 2025.
Their dismissal is said to be in connection with Ghana’s failure to qualify for the 2024 AFCON in Morocco.
According to multiple sources, the GFA is in talks with Belgian and Serbian coaches to replace the duo. Their names have however been withheld by the Ghana Football Association pending official announcement.
The Black Stars will play against Chad and Madagascar on matchday 3 and 4 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The cleanup in the backrrom staff is seen as an attempt to revamp the coaching staff and restore confidence in the team ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers.
The fate of Otoo Addo however remains uncertain as it is unknown if he will be sacked or retained for the World Cup qualifiers.
